Gary Shapero, M.D., B.Sc., C.C.F.P.

Dr Gary Shapero is the medical director of the Shapero Markham Headache and Pain Treatment Centre.

Dr Gary Shapero graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science in 1984. He then graduated from the University of Toronto School of Medicine in 1988, and completed his residency training in Family Practice at the Toronto General Hospital.

Dr Shapero holds an affiliation with numerous professional organizations including the Canadian, American and International Headache Societies as well as the International Spinal injection Society. He is also a reviewer for the journal Headache and a Diplomat of The American Academy of Pain Management. He has published articles in the journals Headache and Cephalalgia in the area of migraine treatment.

Dr Shapero has been invited on numerous occasions to give lectures on headache across Canada and internationally. He is currently an active staff member at the Scarborough Grace and Markham-Stouffville hospital, and a courtesy staff member of the Toronto Hospital.

Dr Shapero is currently a Lecturer at the University of Toronto Department of Family and Community Medicine and practices in Markham, Ontario at the Shapero Markham Headache and Pain Treatment Centre where he focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of head neck and facial pain.

 

Jeremy Spevick, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Spevick obtained his medical degree at George Washington University in Washington, DC. After returning to Toronto, Dr. Spevick completed his training in neurology at the University of Toronto. He currently has a wide range of interests in neurology including stroke, epilepsy and headache.

Dr. Spevick will provide the clinic’s headache patients with a full neurological assessment and will help to develop a customized treatment plan including lifestyle modifications, medical management and interventional measures including therapeutic nerve blocks and BOTOX as deemed appropriate.
